SW Monsoon covered the entire Country by 2nd July, 6 days earlier than normal onset date of 8th July.
In June, the country received a cumulative of 147.2 mm of rainfall, which is 11% below the normal June average of 165.3 mm.

Monsoon trough is running near normal position and expected to persist across Indo Gangetic plain for next few days. Under its Influence, Monsoon would be active over northern plain during the next few days.
Global models are forecasting normal to above-normal rainfall in July, which may compensate for June’s deficit.

Gujarat:-
In terms of June, Gujarat as a whole state Received 77.1 mm which is 30% below the normal June avg. of 110.8 mm.
Here is the District wise Rainfall Departure (%) map against LPA for month of June. Devbhumi Dwarka district had the wettest June whereas Aravalli had a highest rainfall deficit.

As the Monsoon trough is expected to remain near normal or slightly north of its normal position during the period, Rainfall activities will reduce gradually during the period. Most of the rainfall activities will be concentrated over south-eastern parts of Gujarat.
